New kiln opening soon

About

The studio began in a garden shed with a second hand wheel and a kiln that needed coaxing. We now work from a bright workshop with three potters and a very patient cat.

Every piece starts as a lump of local stoneware clay. We throw it, trim it, dry it slowly and fire it twice, first to bisque and then to nearly thirteen hundred degrees.

Our glazes are mixed in house from simple ingredients and tested for food safety. Small variations in colour and surface are not flaws, they are the proof of making.

We pack carefully, use recycled materials and replace anything that arrives broken.
